An employment interview is a meeting between an employer and a job applicant, to assess the applicant’s suitability for a position within the organization.
Your first interview is often with one-two people only. If the interviewer is interested, you may be placed on a “short list” for a second interview and perhaps even a third list.
Structured: The interviewer asks the applicant a number of questions in a formal, organized way. The setting is usually in an office.
Unstructured: The interviewer may have a relaxed, conversational approach and the setting may be away from the office.
Lunch: An interview over lunch can indicate great interest in you as a candidate.
Panel and Board: More than one person interviews you.
Stress: To see how well you handle pressure.
Testing: You may be asked to take skill or written tests.
